Interactive Fiction (Text Adventures)
Interactive fiction or text adventure is a video game genre.
Some users distinguish between interactive fiction that focuses on narrative, and "text adventures" that focus on puzzles. The term "interactive fiction" is sometimes also used to refer to Visual Novels.
Gameplay
In interactive fiction players use text commands to control characters and influence the environment. The entire interface can be "text-only". However, the text can be accompanied by graphics (still images, animations or video), as long as the main way to interact with the game is by typing text.
